When Adam asked me to meet him in Vegas for the weekend after his work trip, I quickly said YES! It's been a long time since we've had a few days to ourselves. One of the best things about Vegas is that every time you go, its an entire new experience. It being our third time out this year and me being on a clean eating kick, we skipped the buffets and tried new places to eat. Also, since it was just a few short days the only thing on my mind was relaxing at the Mandalay Bay Beach instead of walking the strip.
FRIDAY NIGHT
As soon as I landed I ubered straight to Mandalay Bay . If you saw my snap chat then you saw my bath bomb from Lush Cosmetics. I have been wanting to try one for the longest time but I had to save it for a night away from my boys. It makes your skin feel super soft and it just feels like you fell into a pile of flower petals.
Okay so let me talk about our dinner at Tao. It's an asian bistro located in the Venetian. We ordered a salmon sushi roll, filet mignon on pepper steak, pad thai (we could have done without it), and crispy coconut shrimp with spicy thai peanut sauce. It was perfection! By the way, they'll offer you free VIP tickets to its nightclub upstairs mid way through dinner if you're into that kinda thing.
After dinner, we went to the Mirage to go see Ray Romano and David Spade. (BTW, all hotels now have an Uber designated area so you don't wait around with the taxi people.) These guys put on a great show. I really enjoyed the end when they both came out and did a short Q&A for the audience. David Spade was asked to share his favorite Chris Fareli story and of course it was about the time David told him to please stop doing the "fat guy in little coat" joke off stage. I can't even attempt to re say it, but it was so funny!

Saturday
After sleeping in we went to the Mandalay Bay Beach. This is one of the best hotels on the strip that offers so many water areas. It has a wave pool, lazy river (you need to bring your own tube if not buy one for $26), and 3 separate pools. My favorite part of the trip was just lounging pool side. As much as I love to dress up, laying out to tan is so much more fun. That lazy river and wave pool was pretty cool too.
Adam made reservations to Mesa Grill for that evening. It's a short menu and everything is ala cart. We ordered the tiger shrimp on a corn tamale, grilled mahi mahi, cornmeal crusted chile relleno and a side of roasted corn. I really want to duplicate my dish at home because that mole sauce with the mahi mahi was beyond tasteful.
After dinner, we went to Rio to go see the Penn and Teller show. I have to admit I wasn't really looking forward to it but I left loving it. I mean, disappearing an elephant in front of all of us is pretty darn cool. Still thinking about how they did it.
Late at night we love getting tacos from Tacos el Gordo (originally from Tijuana). The line can get crazy long the later you go but its so worth it. Also, walking through hotels to see its beautiful displays right after is always on my list. Most of the hotels connect so it makes it easy to walk off those tacos. These are the hotels with the best displays: Wynn, Encore, Palazzo, Venetian and Bellagio.
