Quick intro: In this SF Eats series, I want to bring you eateries that I come across in my visits to SF. They'll vary from quick bites to upper scale restaurants. I'm a foodie at heart, so I always make sure to have my list of places to eat first, before I even know what I'll be doing. Let's be honest, it's all about the food!
Mr. Holmes Bakehouse @mrholmesbakehouse // on YELP
You've probably seen their famous neon lit sign that says "I Got Baked in San Francisco" floating around Instagram, right? Well it's a little "hole in the wall" bakery known for its Cruffins (a hybrid croissant) and Cronuts (a croissant-donut pastry). The first time I went, my friend Emily and I stood in line at 7:30a just to try it out. Let me also add, we had 4 children and a stroller in tow. Totally worth the wait though, because we were able to snatch a few cruffins and they were delicious. You never know what flavor of the day you'll get. It's one of those places that will make one flavor a day and they sell out before 8:30a. You can also taste a variety of other baked goods they offer and they are also just as delicious.
They've recently opened a new location in LA.
The Slanted Door @slanteddoor // on YELP
When it comes to Asian Fusion in the city, this place is my favorite. Which is why this was my place of choice to come and celebrate our 9th anniversary with Adam. You have to make reservations well in advance if you're planning on coming for dinner. They are open for lunch with a limited menu and accept walk-ins. If you're in the area around 5:30p, they will take a handful of walk-ins which is when they open for dinner.
My absolute favorite item on the menu is the appetizer of dumplings . They are so good, it's a must that we always place two orders. They are filled with pieces of shrimp and green onions. Make sure to add these to your order!

Jane is a really unique coffee shop that serves homemade pastries. I was pleasantly surprised to see breakfast meals on the menu as well. We ordered the Avocado Mash and the Egg White Sandwich. The portions are so big, you can split between two people. They also have another location on Fillmore Street as well.
