Earlier this week, I hosted a Galentine's dinner party in my home with 12 local (SF Bay Area) influencers: bloggers, photographers and business women. I've come to the realization that Instagram is a wonderful community that allows like-minded people to connect with one another. So, it was only natural to do a meet and greet at some point.
As many of you know, I have an online shop called Little Bunches. I rarely have the opportunity do any fun events. So, I used the season of love to sponsor a fun, yet intimate dinner party, along with some other businesses. It's so great how this community of makers can come together to get things done.
Decor
I had so much fun decorating my home with red and pink tone colors. Although it was a valentine's themed dinner party, I didn't want to buy typical valentine decor you see at the stores. The trick to making it look more chic and unique is to keep the theme minimum and very subtle. The only heart shaped decor was the heart wreath made by my friend Ismerai. *To learn how the heart wreath was made, CLICK HERE
Table Setting Because of my budget and lack of space, I opted for a floor seating type of setting. I used a long mirror I had in my home, placed it glass side down and covered it with a dusty rose colored table linen. Luckily, I have been collecting tea pattern plates and they looked exquisite on the table. I skipped on the real gold utensils and opted out for plastic. I found some pink vases at a thrift shop and it really gave the table some extra love.
Rugs + Pillows It's no secret that I am obsessed with vintage Persian rugs, so when I ran into SF Rugs on IG, I knew I had to meet the owner and use her rugs for the event. I used 2 of her beautiful rugs, go to her website to check them all out. It brought the entire space together. You'll also notice the pink faux fur pillows I got from Amazon. I prefer only pillow covers, and had been searching for some, sadly there weren't any available. So, I opted for these pillows.
Bar Cart I displayed the bar cart with a few of my thrifty good items. Wine glasses with gold sprinkled rimmed edges, coffee mugs with saucers, drinks and coffee pots. Ismerai added a beautiful array of eucalyptus branches and pink carnations around the cart to add a pop of color.
Sweet Table I connected with a local baker named Lynh and she sponsored all the desserts. She made 2 small cakes, a dozen cupcakes and sugar cookies. I've ordered a few items from her over the years and she always gets it right, from flavor to the decor. I also added a nice appetizer spread that was easy to make. It included salami, smoked salmon, assorted cheeses, grapes, carrots, crackers, hummus and cream cheese.
