Picking Asael and Judah's swimwear is something I look forward to every spring. Usually, I like to keep it through out the year because its a bit challenging to find cute ones. So when I do, I make sure I keep using them. Listed below are 3 things I look for when I buy my boy's swim shorts....
1. LENGTH - I love how little boys look in swim shorts that are above the knee. They spend their time playing and swimming in the water, so no need for extra fabric. Usually, these swim shorts are called boxers and bermuda.
2. FITTED - when they are fitted it looks more modern and well put together. I avoid wide shorts and look for fitted like Judah's or a bit loose like Asael's.
3. DESIGN - lastly, I look for patterns and colors. I avoid any "themed characters" and focus on solid patterns and colors.
I've had them wear zipped swim tops from SWIMZIP before but they are becoming very opinionated and I've been choosing my battles. So instead, I make sure to lather them up in sunscreen lotion.
I found their swim shorts at ZARA earlier this spring and I absolutely loved the colors. Not that many stores carry this type of swim shorts. Last year, I got them red/white stripes from Zara and they loved it too.
Here's a tip: In the past years when I've purchased long swim shorts I've folded them and sewn them so that it was above the knee and it worked just fine. You can also use safety pins.
Here are other swim short options I love...
